Daily Life at Kantakapalli
Our headquarters tinkles with the sound of laughter; it’s a merry-go-round of activity. We have a famous large mango tree under which the boys gather for meals, singing and Sunday school. The boys are always playing some kind of game – cricket, volleyball, badminton, hopscotch, or chasing our pet dogs! There’s jobs to do too – tending the gardens, replenishing the water tanks and collecting any rubbish that had not made the USE ME recycling bin.
We don’t focus on the past lives of children in our care – not too many questions are asked, few rules are imposed. We do have a commitment to try to contact their parents and if there is any chance they are rehabilitated back into their families.
Caring for these children and seeing them slowly beginning to trust, bud and blossom fills us with great joy. But there are many more kids out there who we need to reach out to…
